Hello, my name is Tanner Kanning. Well, I pretty much love music and this is my small way of contributing.
This whole folk project came about after I attended a family reunion. You see my family is really musical and every night we would sit and play music in a circle and cover random songs. One night, my uncle Mark started playing a song called "these girls" by a guy named Ryan Adams. The song was really relaxed yet upbeat and the lyrics were so folorn and smooth and sarcastic. It was then that I realized that music didn't have to be distorted and musicians didn't have to jump off of amplifiers to make an impact. After i went home, I learned that song and aplied all of my prior skills on how to play I Will Follow You Into the Dark and Stars and went to work on a simple and relaxed record. This brought up a whole new list of complications, I couldn't play sixteenth notes all the time like I was used to while playing along to Blink 182 songs, and since that style of music is so simple, I also wanted to work on descriptive lyrics. It's been a few months in the making and my song count is like twenty something, so pray that I could make this happen and tell me what you think of this whole shabang.
Okay, so I've been working on new stuff that I can throw up on here sometime and maybe just maybe, they'll sound decent, I think all of these songs have a really weird writing voice, which I think is important. Wish me luck
